Surface Prep — Ceramic / Porcelain Tile
- 1Wipe glazed tiles with isopropyl alcohol. Unglazed tiles bond more aggressively.
- 2For tile repairs, roughen the back of the replacement tile with 60-grit before applying adhesive.
- 3Epoxy adhesives give the strongest, most waterproof bond for structural tile repairs.
- 4Allow 24 hours before grouting even if the adhesive labels say faster — tile movement can crack grout.
