Surface Prep — MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard)
- 1Edge grain is extremely porous: apply a diluted PVA primer coat (1 part PVA : 10 parts water) and let it dry before the main adhesive application.
- 2Face grain bonds reliably without priming. Sand to 120-grit if the surface has been painted or sealed.
- 3MDF is heavy — use adequate clamps and allow full cure before removing.
- 4Keep MDF at room temperature — cold MDF absorbs less adhesive and the joint can fail.
